Famous people and Drugaddiction

Juan Alberto Castro started to work on TV and radio when he was 16, and he become famous in TELEFE in 1993. In 2001 the reporter confessed he was homosexual when he was intervinwed by "Planeta Urbano" magazine and 2003 he had a TV program called "Kaos en la ciudad" where he confessed he had been in hell after being in hospital for his addiction to drugs.
He talked about his addiction in his own program because it was about those problems. He never said he was cured what he said was that "IF YOU ARE AN ADDICT, YOU`RE AN ADDICT ALL YOUR LIFE". Castro had been addict to cocaine since he was 23 year old. The police found out that a man called Juan Alberto Peréz, "Coya", had sold him cocaine .
On 2nd march 2004 Castro misteriously fell off the balcony of his flat (on the first floor) and died on 6th march after being in hospital for 3 days. He was only 33 years old.
The causes and situation about his death hasn`t been discovered yet.
People who work in the means of comunication tend to have problems with drugs and they move in the some context as Juan Castro used to move years ago.

If most of your answer are 2:You must certainly conscious how dangerous it is to keep bad habits like smoking or using drugs. Nevertheless you should be more careful with the quality of food you eat and the type of life you lead. Eat healthily and do physical activities.

If most of your answer are 3:Yor are leading a very unhealthy life. You should change your diet. It is wise to do some physical exercise and have walks two or three times a week. Specialized medicine can help you to modify your habits and improve your life. Make the effort and you will enjoy the benefits.

Writing: redacción de listas de compras con el artículo cantidad y precio. Recetas de comidas con información nutricional.
Reading and listening: texto" La comida alrededor del mundo" y el artículo " the big man". Película " Super size me", "Una vida peligrosa" análisis y reflexión.

ACTIVITIES: students ......
1 look at differents recipes on the internet at www.dillards.com/info/sitemap.jsp, www.harrods.com, www.target.com and in groups they make one recipe including: title, time of preparation, ingredients and steps.
2 they create a document with pictures of the dish and cooking instructions by hand or on the computer.
3 After class, scan the recipes or format them in html and link the recipes to a central homepage.

4 choose a recipe to send to a partner school.
5 have the partner school send your school a recipe
6 each class tries to cook the other school`s recipe at home.
7 via email the students comment on their impressions:
-Was it difficult to cook?
-Could they get all the ingredients?
-If not, what did they do? Did you buy another one ?
- Did it taste good?
Remember to take photographs to illustrate the cookbook and include the nutritional information.
They can bring the food to school for other group to try.
